June has kicked off to a great start with Chinook salmon fishing really picking up. The salmon fishing in Ucluelet has really picked up during the month of May and the bottom fishing continues to be good as well. Looking forward to a great 2017 fishing season, dates are filling in quickly so if your coming fishing give us a call and take advantage of the great rates we offer!
April fishing in Ucluelet has kicked off with a bang the bottom fishing is fantastic, crabbing great and the salmon fishing has been decent, the typical early salmon fishery which is most productive in the calm waters of Barkley Sound. There is tons of bait around right now due to the recent herring spawn. The line share of trips this month have been short family fishing trips that have offered everyone on board lots of action and loads of fun!
We had a very wet and windy month during March but the weather has now just recently gotten better. Most of our trips have been 4 hour bottom fishing trips with great results. We have been spending some of the days in Barkley Sound targeting Winter feeder Chinook as well :) Looking forward as we enter in to April tomorrow and all fish species open up :) June, July and August are filling up very quickly so if your planning on coming fishing this season give us a ring and get your dates secured. 250-726-3644
During October, November, December, January and February fishing out of Ucluelet was very minimal. we had an extremely tough Winter so aside from some great crabbing in protected waters or trolling up some Winter Chinook when possible when we were able to get out on the water as always it's an enjoyable day on the water :)
Fishing this year in Ucluelet was not a typically how ever we landed lots of nice sized fish quite a few over 30 lbs and September offers some great days on the water as well. As the rains start it will push the returning salmon in to the streams to spawn. How ever there are still some nice feeders in great numbers not far out :)
The tail end of July threw us heavy winds making fishing a real task how ever as of the first day of August the winds settled and the fishing is great with nice size Chinook ( King Salmon ) hitting the deck :)
The tail end of June was really starting to pick up two boats kicked off July 1st with a bang. One boat was on a Halibut trip the other on a salmon trip. Fishing during the month of June in Ucluelet BC has offered some great days on the water. Some days we have had to work very hard other days the fish come in consistently. Salmon fishing will get more consistent as the months comes on, average Chinook size has ranged between 14 - 21lbs with the odd 25 plus pound fish hitting the deck. Captain Ken running boat #1 has been showing guests a great time on the water. Captain Dave running boat #2 has also been showing guests a great time on the water. Fishing out of Ucluelet during the month of May has really picked up mid month with so nice sized Chinook ( Kings ) being caught. Below are a couple pics so far this month that we were able to get. Been a busy month with many happy guests :)
March 30 - 4hr Afternoon
Solo angler Wendy from Ontario enjoyed a fully guided 4 hour afternoon fishing charter with guide Ken. She reeled in 2 beautiful Chinook and 2 nice sized Rock Cod. During the fishing trip she enjoyed watching whales, sea lions and many other types of marine wildlife.
October fishing in Ucluelet has been good on the days we have been able to get out on the water. Below are a few pictures of the catches, crabbing has been decent so we set the traps on the way out of the harbor. Chinook fishing has been pretty good these fish are winter feeder Chinook and great eating :)
This September has been excellent fishing lots of Chinook being caught, the Coho are plentiful offshore, Halibut fishing has been steady and the bottom fishing excellent!

The June fishing report for Ucluelet so far is looking great Chinook are showing up in good numbers along the coastline with a size average of 10 - 20lbs. June Halibut fishing has been great and nice size! Will add photos as the month progresses and I have the opportunity to add them. It's going to be a great season, Coho / Silvers are already starting to show up and the herring are starting to pile up. Shoreline fish have been feeding on squid.
First weekend to kick off May is looking good with lots of action both with salmon and halibut. Here are a couple pictures from this past weekend.

Great salmon fishing not far from Ucluelet harbor right now! So far the March weather feels like summers in the air as the weather conditions have been fabulous. Feeder size Chinook salmon continues to be fairly productive and the halibut are open! Halibut maximum size at this time is 133cm with a 2 day in possession limit, one must be 90cm or less out of the two Halibut.
