What to Bring and Expect
Getting Prepared for Your Fishing Charter
1. Make sure you have a copy or are able to access your departure instructions which will be emailed to you prior to your fishing trip.
2. All guests wishing to fish have a valid Tidal Sport fishing License. If you are not going to be targeting salmon a salmon sticker is not required on your fishing license. All guests that wish to fish salmon are required to have a salmon sticker on their Tidal Fishing License. The license can be purchased online or in person at two convenient locations in Port Alberni on route to Ucluelet. IMPORTANT - Non Canadian Residents, if you are a non Canadian resident then you are required to get your license in person in Canada to be able to retain Halibut.

3. A cooler for your catch or you can purchase a disposable cooler in town from the store to tote your fresh cleaned catch home. There is also the option to have a local processor vac pack and flash freeze your catch. There are two to choose from.
4. Bring any food or beverages you would like to enjoy while on your fishing charter or tour.
5. It's important to dress warm and you can remove a layer of clothing if you find it warm out as we have many beautiful days on the water. It's better to be over prepared.
6. For those of you that get motion sickness it's advised to take a anti-motion sickness drug which any Pharmacist will be able to suggest one best suited to you. This will ensure a very enjoyable day on the water.

On Your Departure Day Start to Finish
On your departure day you will have all the items above all ready to go and will use the details given on the departure info sheet that has been emailed to you. You will meet your guide at the departure location specified at the departure time specified. ( Please be at the dock 10 minutes before your specified departure time ).
Your guide will be eagerly awaiting your arrival and looking forward to a great day on the water. At the departure time you will be briefed where all the safety equipment is and start to head out of the harbor on your west coast excursion. Your guide will take you based on the weather and where the best fishing is to start your day. If your a new angler your guide will coach you while you are playing the fish keeping it fun and informative. For those anglers that are seasoned it's all you and the fish, your guide will position the boat and net your catch!
When the end of the trip nears your guide will have everyone pull their gear in and get seated for the journey back to the dock. Once back at the dock your catch is filleted and bagged for you which is included in the charter rate. If you would like further processing of your catch ( vacuum packing, canning, smoking and shipping below are two fish processors that will take the fish preparation to the next level. The processors charge per pound.
